Rajdeep Info Techno Pvt Ltd’s Vehicle Separator is a high-speed electronic device, capable of identifying and separating vehicles and is part of the WIM (Weigh-in-Motion) system. It is used for the actual separation of vehicles when WIM (Weigh-in-Motion) scale is installed in the toll lane. The main purpose of vehicle separator is to give activation and deactivation signal to the Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) system.
The Vehicle Separator is a hardy device, designed to function accurately in any environmental condition. VS 1.0 and VS 2.0 have single panels. VS 3.0 has no panels – both controller and component mount PCBs are installed in the respective transmitter tower and receiver tower.
When two vehicles arrive one after the other on the WIM scale, the magnetic loop does not get time to deactivate and the magnetic loop signal remains active even after the first vehicle has left. In this case, the Vehicle Separator neglects the magnetic loop signal and takes the decision on the basis of its own separator signal. When a vehicle arrives in front of the separator, it gives a high signal and when the vehicle leaves, it gives a low signal. Whenever any object other than vehicle, for example, a person comes in front of the Vehicle Separator, it neglects the object and the WIM signal remains low.
The Magnetic Loop Detector works in coordination with the Vehicle Separator for accurate separation of vehicles. The Magnetic Loop detects the presence of vehicle before the vehicle hits the loop.
